I've been targeting Baluran National Park for my destination for a few years before. I heard so much about Baluran, many people call this place as Little Africa or Africa van Java, why? because it has similar wildlife as Africa, we can find a flock of deer, bulls, beautiful peacock, etc easily.... woooow Seeing their activity and behavior of those animals will be a great experience for me... :)
Baluran National Park is located in Situbondo - East Java. Baluran National Park has some of the few dry land ecosystem types in Java, consisting of savanna. It also has Mangrove forest, monsoon forest, coastal forest, swamp forest, and evergreen forest.
My friends and I started the Journey from Malang. But our first destination not Baluran actually, after 8 hours we arrived at Banyuwangi and will sail Bali strait to reach beautiful small island named Tabuhan ( I'll tell about my journey to this beautiful island on the next chapter :D ).
Well, after visited Tabuhan Island we continue our journey to Baluran, we need 3 - 4 hours (so sorry am forget the exact time) to get there, but I still remember that the Sun almost goes down when I arrived there. As many people said that the good time to visit this place is in the morning when the animals will start their activity, or in the evening, in that time a lot of animals going back home after they do their activity all day long. But unfortunately I just saw a few animals during I passed the forest in Baluran... :( may be they take a rest already, but its okey.... seeing beautiful scenery there was amaze me, dry land of Savanna Bekol with the background Baluran Mountain its really beautiful, really little Africa. Not only Savana Bekol that I enjoyed, evergreen forest, monsoon fores, coastal forest, Bama beach and also the sunset.... I enjoyed all of them... ^^
